It's time to think outside of the box

when it comes to treating chronic pain.

Yalda Mohammadi, M.A., B.S., Founder & Owner of Empowered Healing Coaching

Yalda Mohammadi, M.A., B.S., is a fibromyalgia survivor and a passionate advocate for chronic pain awareness and recovery. She is the Founder of Empowered Healing Coaching, where she serves as a Pain Recovery Life Coach & Mentor, specializing in fibromyalgia.

Yalda's innovative approach is rooted in the concept of neuroplasticity, seamlessly integrating a combination of Pain Reprocessing Therapy (PRT) and Life Coaching principles. PRT is a scientific evidenced-based system of psychological techniques focused on reprogramming the brain to properly interpret and respond to signals from the body, disrupting the cycle of chronic pain. PRT is built on the discovery that most chronic pain isn't rooted in physical tissue damage but rather in the brain's misinterpretation of neutral bodily sensations as threats. This shift in perspective opens doors to new possibilities and hope for those seeking relief from the burdens of persistent pain.

Yalda’s expertise in Life & Success Coaching is based on a holistic method integrating the mind and body, that not only aids clients in enacting vital changes but also in securing a foundation for enduring wellness. Her methodology is comprehensive, thoroughly evaluating the client's lifestyle and goals across several pivotal domains such as health and wellness, career, personal relationships, and personal development and growth. The current recommended treatment for chronic pain includes "lifestyle changes." Your primary care physician has likely recommended this approach to help alleviate your pain symptoms. However, understanding the full implications of these changes and implementing them on your own can be quite challenging.

By identifying and focusing on areas that require attention in each client's life, Yalda facilitates not just temporary solutions but the development of sustainable habits, daily practices, and mindsets that pave the way for long-term success and sustained mind-body wellness. Clients gain the insight to recognize the interconnectedness between all key areas of life. This understanding can lead to powerful transformations and a more fulfilling life.

Beyond technique, Yalda's previous 28-year-long battle with chronic pain, including 14 years with fibromyalgia, enriches her practice, offering invaluable empathy and guidance into the journey toward healing.

Chronic pain is a global epidemic affecting an estimated 1.5 billion people, with 50 million people in the U.S. alone. An additional 20 million are grappling with high-impact chronic pain, restricting their ability to work, perform basic chores, participate in social activities, and experience a fulfilling life. Back pain and musculoskeletal pain rank among the top causes of disability, and their prevalence is on the rise. The economic ramifications of chronic pain are increasing as well. (Unlearnyourpain.com) The financial burden associated with managing chronic pain falls within a staggering range of $535 to $600 billion per year in the U.S. (The Cost of Pain, Jama Network)

The current medical paradigm, often emphasizing pharmaceutical interventions and, in many cases, surgeries, fails to adequately address the underlying causes of chronic pain or provide long-term relief for most chronic pain sufferers. Individuals, at best, can manage their pain but often do not achieve full recovery. Fortunately, emerging from cutting-edge pain science research, there is a growing understanding that most chronic pain is now considered curable using a neuroplasticity-based approach. Research indicates that most chronic pain, such as fibromyalgia, neck pain, lower back pain, pelvic pain, headaches, and more, is caused by the misfiring of pain circuits in the brain that can be reversed.
